Back to school: is virtual reality ready to enter the classroom?

A technology full of promise for the school 🧐

There are more and more virtual reality tools and content available for education. However, this technology is still not widely used in schools.

Virtual reality, i.e. computer-generated images that are truer than life allowing you to immerse yourself in a universe, to visit the planet Mars or the bottom of the oceans or to dissect a frog without harming any batrachians, just with a touch tablet. It's a technology that holds great promise for schools. Virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality: today we talk about Extended Reality to sum it all up.

Using virtual reality is comparable to watching a film in class or doing homework, but better. Studies have shown that touching and manipulating, even virtually, helps to improve retention. In addition, it enables gender-sensitive teaching, including gender-sensitive teaching. According to a Danish researcher who has conducted studies on the subject, boys learn best on a screen when it is a robot character who is talking to them and girls when it is a woman.
